Site visits..

Been exploring some venue options with a client for an upcoming event. Aperture Room is a such a gorgeous space. Given the sponsorship element of this event, this raw space is a wonderful choice for customization with décor and lighting. Dinner for 100 awaits!

Always look forward to planning events with a live music element! This corporate event, featuring Jim Cuddy was held at Maison Mercer in Toronto, and was a special evening for conference participants to network and enjoy a wonderful evening of live music together.

Conference, Trade Show, & Awards Combo..

A busy few days at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre for a combined Conference, Sponsored Trade Show, & Awards Gala. 2500 were in attendance and several high-profile speakers were featured; including Captain Phillips, pictured here. The Captain captivated guests with his riveting story of the 2009 hijacking of the U.S. container ship Maersk Alabama by a crew of pirates. Tom Hanks portrayed Captain Phillips in the 2013 biographical survival thriller.

Chef’s table..

Had been looking forward to this tasting for an upcoming event at Fairmont  Royal York and it was as exquisite as always. Seated at Chef’s table we enjoyed various culinary fare including Hickory Mushroom Crusted Beef Tenderloin, Truffled Crushed Potatoes, Espresso Crusted Filet Mignon, Mushroom Chive Risotto, RYH Warm Sticky Toffee Pudding, and a Trio of Chocolate Slices, Lemon Curd Squares, and Cranberry Cheese Cake.

Reception lighting..

Recently had the pleasure of working on a corporate Reception held at Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts which preceded a conference  at Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. The floor to ceiling windows and sky-high ceilings provided an exquisite environment for the 900 guests in attendance.

Artful Dinner..

It was such a pleasure to plan and design this CEO Dinner and Project Exhibit at Arta Gallery in the Distillery. The agenda included a ‘Welcome’ Reception, Seated Dinner, and a Fireside Chat. The décor included custom gobos on lighted truss, and a display of branded décor features in honour of the Sponsor, Morrison Hershfield; with uplighting, projection, circular menus placed within the lacquered charger plates, and eye-catching LED-lighted custom ice-sculpture centrepieces. The exhibit included an array of project-related canvases created specifically for the event and mounted on the Arta walls, accented with uplighting.

Chicago. It’s windy here..

Flew from New York, New York to Chicago to manage an event at Bridgeport Art Center. This warehouse-sized venue is dreamy for a décor designer, with a rustic, industrial interior. Not to mention the multiple loading docks! The freight elevator acted as a bar and as a way to transport guests up to the event level.
